Uganda is continuing to experience a surge in the positive cases of COVID-19 as today the ministry of health has confirmed 1,083 new cases. The cumulative confirmed cases are 49,759.
The breakdown of the new cases are; 1,074 contacts and Alerts: Kampala (832), Wakiso (101), Lira (22), Luwero (20), Masaka (20), Tororo (19), Mbarara (14), Busia (11), Gulu (7), Yumbe (3), Mukono (2), Rukungiri (2), Nakaseke (2), Kabale (2), Jinja (2), Mbale (3), Adjumani (1), Kikuube (1), Kibuku (1), Kabarole (1), Amuru (2), Kiryandongo (1), Lamwo (1), Pader (2), Bugiri (1), Kyotera (1). The other nine are Truck Drivers: Mutukula (8) and Elegu (1).
Meanwhile the ministry has said that Mulago Hospital and Entebbe Grade B have run out of space for COVID-19 patients. Also the ministry’s spokesperson Emmanuel Ainebyoona has shared a video of the situation at Mulago Hospital where ambulances are stranded in a queue to drop off COVID-19 patients.
