Former Rubaga South Member of Parliament (MP), and artist Kato Lubwama has advised newly sworn in artists to use parliament as a means of acquiring wealth because the art and music industry is not as lucrative.
Singer Geoffrey Lutaya and Hillary Kiyaga popularly known as Dr Hilderman took their oaths on Wednesday to represent Kakuuto and Mawokota constituencies in the 11th Parliament. Among the people happy for them is fellow artist and former Rubaga South MP Kato Lubwama.
While appearing in an interview on a local television Lubwama was asked to offer advice to the artists who took their oaths this week and he said that they should use Parliament to get rich as he did.
“I am happy for Geoffrey Lutaaya and Dr. Hilder Man but I advise them to use parliament as a means of acquiring wealth because the art music industry is not as lucrative yes let them go collect money from Parliament because there is no money in the music industry,”Lubwama stated.
It should be remembered in the run-up to that 2016 general elections, Lubwama was quoted asking voters to send him to Parliament, so that he can also ‘eat’ on that money, given to the legislators.
