In commemoration of Mother’s Day, Yalelo Uganda treated lucky customers to a fish-based family lunch at the high-end fine dining restaurant La Cabana in Kampala.
Speaking at the luncheon, Catherine Twesigye, Yalelo Uganda’s Marketing Manager, said having families treat their mothers to a special meal on a special day was a way of the company appreciating their customers.
“I cannot tell you how excited we are that we get to share a meal with everyone here today. It is not every day that we get to sit on the same table and enjoy Yalelo fish with our customers. As Yalelo Uganda, we wanted to give back to you our loyal customers for your consistent support,” she said.
“We pride ourselves in providing an affordable protein source from Uganda’s freshest fish and what better way than to commemorate Mother’s Day by sharing a full course fish-based meal with customers and their loved ones,” Twesigye said.
Twesigye added that affordability is important to Yalelo Uganda, to ensure a fish per plate for every family member.
The families were chosen in an online mechanic that required one to follow Yalelo Uganda’s social media pages, comment on the post announcing the promo with a picture of them or their super mum enjoying Yalelo Fish. They had to tag @YaleloUganda and say why the person deserved the free Yalelo Super Lunch. The five winners with the most post likes, comments and retweets on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter were announced on Saturday, May 8 and treated to the lunch on Mother’s Day Sunday, May 9.
Having commenced operations in Uganda in 2019, Yalelo Uganda farms their fish in the fresh waters of Lake Victoria in Jinja and has several retail outlets in Kampala, Wakiso and Jinja.
Part of the company’s mission is to contribute to solving the food security problem in the country, by providing an affordable protein source in their fish. They walk the talk with promotions like having their fish slashed to Shs10,000 a kilo on Tilapia Thursdays.
Yalelo Uganda, hopes to gradually roll out and have retail stores countrywide.
