Early this year, the National Medical Stores advertised a vacant position of Principal Public Relations officer. News reaching our desk is that NBS news anchor Sheila Nduhukire has been appointed the PRO for National Medical Stores replacing Dan Kimosho who resigned his job for politics.
The prominent journalist emerged the best candidate for the job amidst stiff competition brewing from the interviews conducted by the corporation’s board.
The National Medical Stores is an autonomous Corporation that was established by an Act of Parliament in 1993. It’s mandate is to Procure, Store and Distribute medicines and other medical supplies to health facilities.
Nduhukire holds two masters degrees; one in International Public Relations and Global Communications Management from Cardiff University, UK and the second one MBA from Essami, Arusha Tanzania.
She takes over at a time when NMS is strengthening it’s operations including opening up a state of art pharmaceuticals warehouse in Kajjansi and extending it’s drug supply chain beyond the district headquarters to rural based facilities.
