Kira Police Division is holding Edward Kibale, a UNEB scout for alleged possession of leaked Primary Leaving Examination (PLE) papers.
The suspect is a resident of Buikwe district but was deployed by the board in Wakiso Ditsrict at Little Lina Primary School in Kimbejja, Kyaliwajjala.
Luke Owoyesigire, the Kampala Metropolitan Deputy Spokesperson says Kibale was found with different PLE papers similar to this year’s exams. He has been arrested and take to Kira Police Division for interrogation.
A total of 749,811 candidates are expected to be sitting for this year’s PLE from 14,300 examination Centres. Yesterday the candidates started writing their exams with Mathematics in the morning and then Social Studies in the Afternoon. Today on Wednesday, March 31, candidates have started with Integrated Science in the morning and English in the afternoon.
The Board commissioned a total of 50,800 field personnel who will be involved in the field conduct of the PLE Examination throughout the country. These include District monitors, scouts, supervisors and invigilators.
