Following yesterday’s Cabinet on the fate of the learners, President Museveni is set to announce the reopening of schools tomorrow Wednesday.
The Cabinet approved the reopening of schools to non-candidate classes after a countrywide tour to schools to ascertain their preparedness is done. No date committed though Pre-primary schools are to remain closed.
According to the Cabinet meeting minutes, the resuming of education for the non candidate will resume in a staggered manner while preprimary schools will remain closed because the learners in that category can’t practice SOPS.
” Semi candidates should report back in short term or study in shifts, schools will have more space when candidates leave,” stated the document.
Primary Leaving Examination student will be finishing on March 31 while UCE will be finishing on April 6 and the promotion of the learners to the next class will be based on attendance.
