Pearl of Africa New Year celebrations return to usher Ugandans into 2022

NBS Television is set to this Friday, the 31st of December, 2021, host the second edition of the Pearl of Africa New Year Celebrations (PANYC).
The now-annual crossover event will this year run under the theme, “Why I Love Uganda,” in a bid to recognize the unique
Ugandan culture, her gift of nature, her people, and more.

“As we celebrate the new year, we celebrate the Pearl of Africa context of love embedded within the Ugandan culture, which we
intend to spread and trade across the globe through the 2021 edition of the Pearl of Africa New Year Celebrations. With hands
joined together, the formal and informal sector, media and non-media ventures, this dream can be achieved,” said Next Media Services Deputy Group CEO and Chief Strategy Officer,
Joseph Kigozi.
The 2020 edition of the Pearl of African New Year Celebrations event was themed “I Choose Uganda” and fetched inspiration
from the cold political and social pressures that arose towards the peak of the national election season.
Envisioning a peaceful Uganda, NBS Television, in liaison with various Ugandan TV stations, shared the peace message through
several stage performances broadcasted on NBS Television, UBC TV, NTV Uganda, and Baba TV, crowned with live fireworks at the Jinja Bridge.

The 2021 edition looks to set the pace as well. It will this time show on NBS Television, Sanyuka Television, UBC Television,
Magic 1 HD, Baba TV, and stream on the Afro Mobile app while bringing forth all the various points of celebration across the
nation, inclusive of the Jinja Bridge set as the peak of the celebration of usher 2022.
PANYC 2021 is powered by Uganda National Cultural Center, sponsored by UNDP, in association with Stanbic Bank Uganda and Mucobadi, and produced by Next Productions.
