After the successful release of 3 singles over the past 3 years, raving pop singer song writer Derrick Talemwa also professionally known as Dreventy has today released his debut body of work;- Blue Detail.

The 5 track artistically daring project is set to re-affirm his position as one of Uganda/ Africa’s finest pop stars to lend our ears to.

Given a musical background that saw him exposed to singing, and performing from the tender age of 6, his pop extended play is an assertion that he is set to take the world by storm.

Right from his early days as a performer at school functions and events, it was then that Dreventy knew that music was his calling; and this saw him churn out a couple of covers to popular tracks mid-2018, hence gaining him an audience online and multiple streams and being shortlisted as one of Soundcity’s 11 Underground Talented Rising Stars To Hear.  Dreventy also emerged second place at the Penda singing contest auditions back then in 2019.

He in the same year released his debut single “I Won’t Forget” a tear soaked single that won the hearts of many, and continues to add to his ever growing audience with each drop.

Dreventy’s sound and style of music is a blend of Giveon, Doja Cat, Zayn Malik, and is also inspired by Chris Brown, Christina Perry, Trey Songz, and many more artists that have shaped his approach to music. He wishes to make this world a better place one song at a time with intentional lyrics and catchy melodies.

He now enters a new phase in his life as he drops his debut EP;- Blue Detail; a body of work that’s been in the making over the past four years; a project he’s poured everything into. The body of work showcases the young star’s evolution since his inception in 2019.

EP Description:

“Blue Detail’ as an EP was first conceived in 2017, written over the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown of 2020 and recorded at the end of last year. It is a project full of personal stories from Dreventy as he speaks of his journey so far, family, his love life, and even tales of the future; of where he wants to be.

EP Breakdown:

Check On Me.

A   song about a love interest who ‘ghosts’ and doesn’t respond to your calls, or texts and how lonely it makes one. A common feeling in day  to day life, more so in modern day dating.

I Love The Dark.

We all go through a dark phase in our lives. So, this song is as an open letter of courage to everyone out there, that even though you might be going through a dark and trying time, it is not for ever and Dreventy wishes to remind you that you are never alone.

Going Nowhere

This one is about the tripple threat;- drugs, love and an addiction.

Grand Pa

The crooner pays his respect and homage to his grandfather on this record, a song he says is so dearest to his heart, and wishes his ‘Grand Pa’ were here to hear his grandson’s music and how he’s doing him proud.

Hopeless

Dreventy sings of a bitter sweet relationship with his love interest in ‘Hopeless’, about how indifferent she’s made him turn due to her toxic character.
