Paul Mubiru, the nsenene vendor who was filmed on a Dubai-bound Uganda Airlines plane at Entebbe International Airport yesterday has apologized.
In his apology letter addressed to Uganda Airlines, Mubiru says that the video was intended for comedy on the social networking platform, TikTok.
“I recorded the video in question not to tarnish or ashame the Airline, the country or passengers on board but for comedy purposes specifically TikTok deeds,” reads Paul Mubiru’s apology in part.
On Friday, Mubiri’s video went viral on social media as he was filmed selling nsenene to seated passengers in the economy class on a Uganda Airlines plane.
The video attracted mixed reactions from members of the public with many describing the act as being substandard and demeaning of the airline status.
The Minister of Works and Transport Gen Edward Katumba Wamala earlier today ordered the suspension of a section of Uganda Airlines staff that allowed Mubiru on the plane.
