One thing Ugandan artistes should learn from Davido’s masterclass is that with a loyal fan base, financial freedom can easily be realized.
The keenest student of this masterclass seems to be Malamu singer, Pius Mayanja, better known as Pallaso, who last evening kick-started his own fundraiser.
Today, Pallaso took to Twitter to reveal the total of the contributions that have been streaming in through his mobile money and he has so far managed to raise a decent sum of Shs1.7 million.
This is a total of Shs1,600,263, an accumulative sum that was sent on his MTN number, and Shs101,368 that was sent in as contributions on his Airtel line.
He revealed the details with picture evidence.
This move comes after Nigerian artiste David Adedeji Adeleke better known as Davido asked his fans to help him fundraise 100 million nairas to clear taxes for his latest luxury acquisition, a Rolls Royce automobile.
Nigerians sent to his account an equivalent of Shs1.3 billion.
Davido has thus far gotten more money than his fundraiser had targeted and by evidence of his bank account balance posted on Twitter, he can comfortably clear his monster machine from customs.
The journey is only getting started for Pallaso back in the 256, as Shs1.7 million is only a drop in the ocean of the Shs100 million target he needs to save his Range Rover from the taxman.
