Covid-19 vaccination will cost Shs1m next year- Kampala RCC Hood Hussein

The Kampala Resident City Commissioner (RCC), Hood Hussein has warned Ugandans who are not yet vaccinated to get the jab before the end of this year.

While appearing on local television on Wednesday morning, Hudu said that by the end of this year they will be no free vaccines in government facilities.

The RCC stated that starting January the vaccines will only be in the private facilities and they will charge a million Shillings or even more.

“This free vaccination is going to end this year, meaning we are left with this November and only December. Next year, there will be no free vaccinations, next year you will look for vaccines and you may not find them because even those who are giving us vaccines will know that we have achieved our target which was 4.8 million Ugandans which we have now achieved. We have now extended it to 7 million Ugandans and we are soon achieving it and once we achieve that, vaccines won’t be here,” RCC Hood stated.

He went on and added, “It will be the Private facilities that will have those vaccines and they will charge a million Shillings or even more. After this, the government will not be bothered by whoever will die of corona as a result of not being vaccinated. It will be his/her negligence.”

According to Hudu, the government has done everything to see that every Ugandan gets vaccinated and whoever will die of corona, will be his or her negligence.
