Today’s Plenary sitting at Parliament has been called off. Members of Parliament and staff have been advised to stay away from the parliamentary premises following the explosions that have happened at Parliamentary Avenue and Kooki Towers near Central Police Station (CPS).
All activities at the August House have been suspended, starting with committee meetings.
“Today’s sitting of Parliament has been called off, MPs are advised not to Come to Parliament,” says Deputy Speaker Anita Among.
The explosion on parliamentary avenue is reported to have gone off in an SUV car parked near the ABSA ATMs.
