Suspected Nansana machete attackers arrested after 2-month hunt

After a two-month hunt, Police’s crime intelligence has arrested five suspects of the machete gang believed to have been behind the Nansana attack in a video that circulated widely on social media.

The arrest comes after two suspects that had been arrested before accepted to have been part of the gang and revealed others.

In September this year, CCTV footage captured the machete-wielding men at about 3:15 am inside a residence in Kibwa, Nabweru in Nansana municipality moving with pangas and small lights with their heads covered with head socks and face masks.

They jumped over the perimeter fence and accessed the premises of Paul Kayemba in Kibwa, Nansana Municipality.

However, an alarm system alerted the residents who also made a verbal alarm prompting the thugs to take off.
