Minister Kasolo: If we were told COVID-19 vaccines boost sexual performance, we would have already hit the target

The State Minister for Microfinance, Haruna Kyeyune Kasolo has taken a swipe at Ugandans who have deliberately refused to embrace COVID-19 vaccination saying they (Ugandans) would have overwhelmingly rushed for vaccination if it had a positive impact on their sex life.

While appearing on NBS TV’s Barometer show, Kasolo said; “If we were told the vaccine boosts sexual performance, we would have already hit the target.”

Mukono Municipality legislator, Betty Nambooze who is a panelist on the same show cheekily responded to the minister’s statement saying; “Kasolo would have taken more than two jabs.”

Minister Kasolo however believes that the slow pace of COVID-19 vaccination can be addressed by getting all stakeholders on board.

“Advocacy for vaccination should not be for government alone. Most people have leaders that they listen to. In the ghetto, there is a ghetto President,” he said.

In his last address, President Museveni said that Ugandans have not refused to get vaccinated but rather leaders are not doing enough to sensitize them about the importance of vaccination.

Museveni disclosed that they target to vaccinate about 12 million people by December to be able to fully reopen the economy in January 2022.

To date according to the Health Ministry statistics, 3,189,173 people have so far been vaccinated.
