“No Ugandan should be denied services because they are not vaccinated,” says Minister for presidency Babalanda

The Minister for Presidency, Milly Babalanda has noted that no Ugandan should be denied services because they are not vaccinated.

Communicating through a tweet on her official Twitter handle, the Minister noted that she had received concerns that some Resident District Commissioners (RDCs) and Resident City Commissioners (RCCs) were denying services to the unvaccinated.

The tweet read; “I have received concerns that some RDCs/RCCs are denying services to the unvaccinated. Accordingly, I wish to allay public fear. Nobody should be denied services due to their vaccination status (for now). The job of RDCs/RCCs is to mobilise the public to get their jabs.”

A number of government entities such as the National Drug Authority and the Ministry of Health have already issued directives to their workforce to get vaccinated or else be barred from accessing office grounds.

Last week the Deputy Speaker of Parliament Anita Among also told Members of Parliament, that they will be required to present their COVID-19 vaccinations card to attend sittings, stressing that legislators need to lead by example so that the citizens are encouraged to take up the Covid-19 vaccines.

According to the Ministry of Health, 65 new cases were registered; cumulative cases (126, 236); active cases admitted at health facilities (171); cumulative recoveries (96,904); death (3,215); positivity rate (1.3%); tests conducted (1,811, 360) and total doses administered (3,189,173).
