President Yoweri Museveni has come out to address yesterday’s sad incident where an explosion killed one person and injured about five others.

The explosion happened at Digida pork joint in Komamboga, Kawempe Division.

Through his official social media platforms, Museveni says that he has already been briefed about the incident.

“The Information I have is that 3 people came and left a package in kaveera which later on exploded, killing 1 person and injuring 5 others,” says Museveni.

The president further says that the Police Specialists are on the ground investigating the whole incident.

“They will give us more information later. They will also give guidelines on vigilance by the Public dealing with these possible terrorists.

It seems to be a terrorist act but we shall get the perpetrators,” he says.

He urges the public not to fear as the perpetrators will be netted.

“We shall defeat this criminality like we have defeated all the other criminality committed by the pigs who don’t respect life,” he says.

In 2010, Uganda experienced bombings at Kyadondo and Kabalagala which killed 74 people. Five people were convicted of terrorism and given life sentences. Two others also found guilty of terrorism were given 50 years in jail.
