ICT Minister Chris Baryomunsi has said that negative pictures that are continuing to be circulated on social media of the Dubai Expo, show lack of patriotism amongst Ugandans.

Since the kicked off the 2020 Dubai Expo earlier this month, the country’s pavilion has been trolled on social media.

According to Baryomunsi, the pavilion was not as bad as what is being said.

“Most of the things Uganda was exhibiting were being showcased digitally,” said Baryomunsi.

He accuses Ugandans of turning criticism into a profession.

“I think very many people didn’t understand what the expo was about. They think the expo was about the pavilion, however, there were very many aspects including the engagements we had with potential investors,” he said.

The minister disclosed that the government has already bought area where the Ugandan pavilion was set up and they are going to put an office for economic affairs.
