Ssewanyana, Ssegirinya slapped with fresh murder charges

Two Members of Parliament, Hon. Ssegirinya Muhammad and Hon. Allan Ssewanyana have today been arraigned before the Magistrates Court in Masaka City presided over by grade one magistrate, Grace Wakooli.

The duo has been slapped with new charges of murder allegedly committed at Kisekka in Lwengo district.

Wakooli then remanded them to Kigo prison until October 13, 2021.

Ssewanyana, Ssegirinya alongside four others have spent over two weeks in prison following their arrest over the recent murders in the greater Masaka region where over 25 people were killed.

They were first charged with murder, attempted murder, and terrorism. Their legal team applied for bail and it was successful but the two MPs were rearrested at Kigo Prison gates.
