The campaign starts today on Monday, September 27 at 8:30 am in Kampala, Wakiso, and Mukono and it will go up to Friday, October 3, 2021.

The campaign targets the 4.8 million priority groups of persons above 50 years, teachers and staff, and health workers among others.

Also, all persons who started with AstraZeneca and are due for their second dose will be given AstraZeneca in the same locations.

For persons who started vaccination with Sinovac and are due for a second dose will be informed shortly on the date to turn up, according to the Health Ministry.

“The Ministry of Health does NOT advise the public to mix vaccines nor receive a booster dose. Since there is limited information on the effects of MIXING vaccine types, every client MUST receive the same type of vaccine as both their first and second dose,” said the ministry.

It is important to note how similar this maculopapular rash looks to the smallpox rash, also an orthopoxvirus.
