COVID-19: Uganda receives 1.6 million doses of Pfizer vaccines

Uganda has today afternoon received 1,674,270 doses of Pfizer vaccine from the US Government in support of the ongoing COVID-19 vaccination exercise.

The consignment was received by officials from Ministry of Health and US Mission in Uganda. This is the largest consignment of COVID-19 vaccines received to-date.

Since this year in March, the country has received various vaccine donations from different countries. The vaccines have so far been administered to 1,777,685 people.

To date, Uganda has 122,277 confirmed cases of COVID-19, 95,897 recoveries and 3,129 deaths.

Sectors like education, events and churches among others are waiting on mass vaccinations so that they can be reopened.
