FIFA 2022 World Cup Qualifiers (Group E):

Thursday, September 2 2021 – Kenya Harambee Stars Vs Uganda Cranes

At Nyayo National Stadium, Nairobi (4 PM)

Uganda Cranes will seek for an impressive start of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers campaign as they play Kenya’s Harambee Stars today on Thursday, September 2 at 4pm at Nyayo National Stadium, Nairobi.

The game will be played with no fans in the stadium and Uganda will be hoping for maximum points against the rivals to be able to close up on Group E opponent Mali who won their opening game against Rwanda yesterday on September 1.

Head coach Milutin “Micho” Sredojevic believes that his team is ready to compete.

“We have assembled a team that will compete. Derbies are always determined by the slightest details. We want to pay keen attention to such details and win the game,” said Micho.

Team captain Emmanuel Okwi sounded no different from Micho as he said the team is eyeing for maximum points.

“As we face Kenya, I am captain and only wear the arm. But, the rest of my teammates are all captains as we fight for our country. We seek a good start as we face Kenya on Thursday,” Okwi said.

The last 8 games both teams have faced each other, Kenya won 1, Uganda won 2 and 5 matches ended in a draw.
