Nsereko: Lumbuye is not a human rights activist; no human rights activist calls for the killing and violation of other people’s rights


Last week,the arrest of renowned Turkey based motormouth Lumbuye caused a national debate on social media, with many refering to him as a human rights activists. Kampala Member of Parliament has however asked to defer from those calling Lumbuye a human rights activists.
“I don’t agree with calling Lumbuye a human rights activist. There is no human rights activist that calls for the killing of another person and violation of rights of others,” said Nsereko

While commenting on the issue of Lumbuye being arrested from Turkey, Nsereko said that the government is allowed to arrest a person from where they commit the crime.
“Lumbuye committed crime out of Uganda’s jurisdiction but on the internet, you don’t have to be within jurisdiction . The government is allowed to get you wherever you are,”Nsereko
He however said that he wants Lumbuye to be brought to order and not be mistreated.
“We don’t want Lumbuye to be mistreated but he needs to be brought to order. He has come out to speak on behalf of NUP, the party should have responded if they are not for what he says,” Nsereko said.

Nsereko also stated that People need to understand that they are solely responsible for the information they produce and how the have no right to violate the rights of others while enjoying their rights.
“I want to tell our people, social media is like a menu, you have to select what is good for you. Lumbuye does what he does to test patience. He did this longtime ago and they were quiet until their turn reached,” said Nsereko.
He also said that Lumbuye and his colleagues have resorted to what they do so as to get more views so as to earn.
