MP Zaake flies out to Turkey to rescue blogger Lumbuye

Mityana Municipality Member of Parliament Francis Zaake yesterday on Wednesday evening jetted out of the country enroute  to Turkey to rescue motormouthed political blogger Fred Kajjubi Lumbuye.

Lumbuye, a renowned Ugandan political blogger based in Turkey was reportedly arrested by the Turkish security authorities.

According to our sources, Zaake has travelled with a big team to Turkey that includes; National Unity Platform (NUP) party members and lawyers.

Former Presidential candidate and leader of the NUP party Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine yesterday revealed that his camp received the reports with urgent concern and they are working around the clock to establish the facts.

“Our leadership team at home has also engaged the Turkish Embassy on the matter. We all must be very concerned about this development, because as we know many Ugandans only feel safe to criticise the regime in Uganda from a safe distance in countries abroad. The governments of the world ought to protect the rights of political dissidents and exiles who have sought refuge in their countries,” said Bobi Wine.

Lumbuye is among the alleged social media misusers that police recently singled out to be among those on its wanted list.
