The ring leader in the Moroto prison break has been arrested in Kotido, confirms Police.
The 40-year-old Lokolikau Lochu was netted during a joint security cordon and search operation. He was found with a gun with 14 rounds of ammunition.
According to Police, the gun belongs to Uganda Prisons Services and was stolen by one of the escapees who broke into the MOROTO prisons armoury last year.
Police says Lochu has been using the same gun to carry out cattle raids.
Last week 219 prisoners escaped from Moroto with 14 guns. To date, about 20 inmates have been taken back to the prison while seven escapees have been put out of action (killed). 13 stolen SMG guns are still missing.
