Anesthesiologists develop website to help COVID-19 patients/relatives locate hospitals with free ICU beds

With the surge in COVID-19 cases overstretching the health system as many patients are finding it hard to access hospitals or even get attention from health workers, Association of Anesthesiologists of Uganda have developed a website that will help COVID-19 patients/relatives locate hospitals with free ICU/HDU beds in Kampala.

The website will be giving updates of free ICU/HDU beds in different hospitals around Kampala.

According to the developers, the move is intended to address the unplanned movement of patients from one hospital to another in this covid times.

For starters, an anesthesiologist is a doctor who practices anesthesia. Anesthesiologists are physicians specializing in perioperative care, developing anesthetic plans, and the administration of anesthetics. He or she has finished college, then medical school (four years), then an internship (one year) followed by a residency in anesthesia (three years). Some anesthesiologists pursue additional years of training.
