Kampala Metropolitan Traffic Police Commander Norman Musinga has vowed that they will only allow vehicles to move after ascertaining the purpose of movement.

Yesterday Police conducted an intensified operation on vehicles in the Kampala Metropolitan area after a tip off that many were using fake documents.

Musinga said that the indiscipline of road users is too much as many have managed to forge stickers from the Ministry of Works.

“Our operations continue, we are not about to stop until the lockdown is over. We want to see whether all the vehicles on the road are cleared by the Ministry of Works,” said Musinga.

He added, “For those whose cars were impounded yesterday, we are not going to give them back to them yet because they’ll be on the road again.”

However, most police stations in Kampala and Wakiso are out of parking space for vehicles and boda bodas.

Meanwhile besides motorists, Musinga stated that another challenging issue is the people going for vaccination.

“We are trying to see how to manage that, we are advising them to get clearance from the RDCs. Those near the vaccination centers can walk there,” he said.
