Uganda registers lowest COVID-19 daily cases in two weeks

The number of new daily coronavirus infections in Uganda decreased to 345 cases over the past 24 hours, the lowest level in two weeks, according to the results released by the health ministry today on Tuesday.

Uganda is facing a surge in the coronavirus cases with around 79,434 COVID-19 cases and 989 deaths as of June 29.

The breakdown of the new 345 cases are: 338 Contacts and Alerts: Kampala (245) Wakiso (36) Luwero (12) Junja (7) Gulu 96) Adjumani (5) Omoro (5) Kibuku (4) Masaka (4) Soroti (2) Ntungamo (2) Mbale (3) Buliisa (1) Kagadi (1) Yumbe (1) Arua (1) Mbarara (1) Amudat (1) Mukono (1). Others are 7 Truck Drivers: Mutukula (5) Malaba (1) Elegu (1).

The data showed Uganda registered 33 deaths in the past day. People are continuing to win the battle of COVID-19 as 522 have recovered over the past 24 hours. The total recoveries now stand at 52,382.

The positivity rate has now lowered to 10.7%.
