Here are the surprise inclusions in the new cabinet

President Museveni has this evening named his cabinet leaving many surprised, right from the Vice President, Prime Minster to a number of Ministers the Cabinet has been labeled unpredictable.

Well as some Ministers have retained their places in the Cabinet, new names have emerged. Below is a list of the new inclusions that have surprised the masses.

Former Minister of Education and Sports and Katakwi Woman Member of Parliament Hon. Jessica Alupo’s   appointment as the new Vice President of Uganda came as a surprise. Hon. Alupo served in the 2011-2016 cabinet as the Minister for Education and Sports but was dropped in the 2016-2021 cabinet s she failed to retain her parliamentary seat.   

Kakumiro Woman MP Hon. Robinah Nabbanja’s appointment as the Prime Minister and the Leader of Government Business in Parliament has also surprised many. Hon. Nabbanja had vied for the post of Deputy Speaker of Parliament but later stepped down.

Former Speaker ‘s appointment as the  1st Deputy Prime Minister and Minister East African  Affairs also surprised many since Hon. Rebecca  Kadaga openly  said that  she can’t take up the  post of Vice President

Forum for Democratic Change Joyce Ssebugwawo is the new State Minister for ICT. She contested as Lubaga Division Mayor and lost to National Unity Platform candidate Zacchy Mberaze.  

The former NRM Secretary General   Hon. Justine Lumumba’s appointment as the Minister of General Duties has also shocked many.

Renowned Journalist Hon. Agnes Nandutu’s appointment as the State Minister of Karamoja affairs has also surprised many.  The independent NRM leaning MP was denied a party ticket forcing her to run as an independent.  

Minister of state for Internal affairs Gen. David Muhoozi‘s appointment has also shocked many. Gen. Muhoozi is representing the army in the 11th Parliament, the head of CDF and now the State Minister for Internal affairs.
