Three Laboratory attendants arrested for faking Covid-19 test results

Police has in detention three Laboratory attendants for allegedly faking Covid-19 test results.

Without disclosing too much details about the suspects and where they work from, Twiine Charles the spokesperson of the Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID) labels the act of the attendants as a ‘glaring unethical’ act that undermines government’s efforts in the fight against the pandemic.

Since the pandemic was confirmed to be in Uganda last year in March, there have been reports of people getting wrong or contradicting results even in government laboratories.

Meanwhile as of yesterday, Uganda’s second wave of the deadly virus continued to surge as 670 new cases were reported taking the total cumulative confirmed cases to 51,676.

COVID-19 deaths stand at 374, active cases on admission are 634 while those that have been vaccinated are 748,676.

President Yoweri Museveni will address the country today on the resolutions and measures passed by the National Task Force on COVID-19. The address will be on different radio and TV stations across the country starting at 8:00pm.
