Nankabirwa petitions NRM demanding disciplinary action against Kadaga

Former Government Chief Whip Ruth Nankabirwa has petitioned the National Resistance Movement (NRM) party Secretary General Justine Kasule Lumumba demanding for disciplinary action against former Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga.

Nankabirwa accuses Kadaga of undermining the NRM CEC position by going against the party when she contested for the speakership as an independent against NRM flag bearer in the race Jacob Oulanyah.

Kadaga lost with 191 votes against Oulanyah’s 310 votes but Nankabirwa wants Kadaga to apologise and also face disciplinary action.

“Kadaga lost and I know she is a member of NRM, but she will have to apologies to the party. I also lost my position as an MP so no one should make Kadaga’s loss as something new she lost let’s move on,” said Nankabirwa.

Earlier this week, the ruling party SG Lumumba revealed that Kadaga will either face caution, suspension or expulsion from the NRM, depending on whether a formal complaint will be made to the party disciplinary committee over her conduct.

Yesterday, NRM’s CEC reportedly held a meeting at State House about Kadaga’s conduct. No formal communication has been made about what transpired in the meeting.
