Mityana Municipality Member of Parliament, Francis Zaake has disclosed that the National Unity Platform (NUP) wants to make sure President Yoweri Museveni cries as the 11th parliament goes to polls for position of Speaker and Deputy Speaker.

According to Zaake, as the leading opposition party, they will be challenging everything that is done in Museveni’s favour.

“Our position is to see that Museveni cries. Our agenda is to see Museveni suffering. That is our agenda,” said Zaake.

In March, NUP formed a five-member committee to research on who the party should back for the speakership race in Parliament. Since then nothing has been officially communicated.

And according to Makindye West legislator Hon. Allan Ssewanyana who also subscribes to NUP, their party MPs have been left to decide for themselves on who to vote for in Speaker and Deputy Speaker of parliament race.
