Double win for Soroti Woman MP Adeke as she takes oath for 11th parliament, graduates from Makerere with a masters degree in law

As the Makerere University graduation and the Member of Parliament elect Swearing in week kicks off today. Soroti Woman MP elect Ann Adeke is wearing both ‘hats’.

The FDC legislature graduated today and hours later was sworn in as a member of the 11th parliament.

Adeke holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from Makerere University in addition to a diploma in legal practice from the Law Development Center (LDC).

Back in 2013 at Makerere University, Adeke polled 6609 (61%) votes and thereby defeating seven others in a hotly contested guild race.
She had massive support amongst female students who were desperate to have a female guild President, having taken the last 8 years without any. The last they had was Susan Abbo in 2007.

Adeke is among the total of 529 Members of Parliament-elect set to be sworn into office.
The swearing-in ceremony will take place at Parliament’s South Wing parking lot.
