FUFA has become political yet football has to be neutral for everyone –Mujib Kasule declares his intentions to stand for FUFA President

Mujib Kasule has today announced his intentions to contest for the Presidency of FUFA in the elections scheduled to take place in August 2021.

Proline football Club owner becomes the third candidate to officially announce his bid to race for the FUFA President post. Incumbent Moses Magogo and Makindye West legislator are the other two candidates that announced their intentions too.

Speaking during his press conference at McKinnon Suits, Mujib said that he has offered himself in the struggle to claim the football glory as there is urgent need to reorganise the game as Uganda Cranes is not the only important structure of football in Uganda.

According to Mujib, the politics fire is destroying football yet the game has to be neutral. He said many people have joined football for personal gains hence messing up all structures.

“Football has to be neutral for everyone; the politics fire that’s destroying it must be stopped,” he said.

First on his agenda, Mujib says his focus will be on invest a lot in grass root football as it’s the foundation of football. He also promised to make the league independent from FUFA and also invest at least Shs2.5 billion in the top flight league with each club receiving directly Shs100 million per season to cater for their operation costs.
