Magogo declares intentions to stand for FUFA presidency for third term

Budiope East MP-elect and Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) President Eng. Moses Magogo has announced that he will be standing for a third term to continue steering the local football governing body.

Magogo has been at the helm of FUFA since 2013 when he replaced Lawrence Mulindwa who decided not to stand for a third term. However, Magogo’s venture into active politics where he was elected MP for Budiope East in the 2021 January polls some thought he would not stand again as FUFA President though no rule calls him to do so.

Speaking today during his quarterly media engagement at Jevine Hotel in Rubaga, Magogo announced saying; “I will make it official that I am standing again as FUFA President.”

He claimed that being in parliament will make him serve football better because he will directly be tabling the issues on the floor of parliament without involving any third party.

This year’s FUFA Elections will take place in August during the General Assembly. Magogo has been unopposed in all the elections he has stood as FUFA President.
