Aruu County Member of Parliament Samuel Odonga Otto was yesterday morning arrested from Gulu. He was arrested from Bomah Hotel in Gulu City on orders of Francis Olugu, the Deputy Director Criminal investigation department.
Odonga is facing multiple charges that include; malicious damage to property after he allegedly knocked a parked vehicle and assaulted the driver of the vehicle.
He is also facing charges of illegal possession of a fire arm after he allegedly pulled a pistol and used it to smash the windscreen of the vehicle he allegedly knocked. The incidents are said to have happened last year in Pader district.
Olugu said that the MP will be taken to Kampala for interrogations before he is produced before court in Pader later during the week. The legislator however denied all the allegations saying his arrest is politically motivated.
