Ssegirinya risks losing parliamentary seat over forged academic documents

Kawempe North MP elect Ssegirinya Muhammad risks missing his parliamentary seat over forged academic documents. In a letter issued by Uganda National Examinations Board to law firm Alaka and advocates, the documents the National Unity Platform flag bearer issued to the Electoral commission are not authentic.

“We have checked our records and findings are as follows:  Candidate  U0053/054(2007) is  Nampiima Sarah who sat at Mengo  Secondary School not Ssegirinya Richard sitting  at Pimbas  Secondary School.

Candidate U0053/754 (2009) is Nabadda Maureen who sat at Mengo Secondary School not Ssegirinya Richard sitting at Pimba Secondary School,” stated the document.

UNEB   also stated that the seriel numbers U1884798 and A0964827 whose copies were submitted for verification are not authentic documents issued by the board.

The election petition

Alaka and co.advocates is the law firm representing Serwadda Sulaiman Kidandala a former contender for the Kawempe North Pariamentary North seat which he lost to Ssegirinya. Kidandala is challenging Ssegirinya’s win.
