Police to withdraw deployment from Bobi Wine’s home, “But we shall maintain surveillance on his movements”

Police has accepted to act by the court order on their presence at National Unity Platform (NUP) leader Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine’s residence in Magere.

According to Police spokesperson Fred Enanga, there are going to withdraw the deployment at Bobi Wine’s home as per the High Court ruling issued this morning by Justice Michael Elubu.

However, Enanga revealed that security agencies are going to maintain their surveillance on his movements as a ‘preventive measure’ on his planned riots that their intelligence reliably received.

Today morning High Court in Kampala presided over by Justice Elubu issued an order instructing police and military stationed at Bobi Wine’s home to vacate immediately and his right to personal liberty reinstated immediately.

“The indefinite confinement of Robert Kyagulanyi in his home is unlawful and unconstitutional,” said Justice Elubu in his ruling.

Bobi Wine has not left his residence since January 14 when the country went to polls for presidential and parliamentary elections.
