The ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) Secretary General Justine Kasule Lumumba has revealed that she has decided to go into self-isolation on advice of scientists after three of her handlers tested positive for COVID-19.
In her statement released on Monday, Lumumba said; “This is to inform the leadership and fraternity of NRM and the country at large that three of my handlers with whom I work with, yesterday tested positive for COVID-19.
“I have therefore taken advice from our scientists to immediately enter into self-quarantine as a precautionary measure, while I wait for results of the rapid test I have had to take.”
Lumumba has recently been moving around the country campaigning for President Yoweri Museveni. However, she said that all campaign and coordination activities at the NRM secretariat will continue normally.
Sources reveal that several officials on President Museveni’s campaigning team have also been told to go into self-isolation.
