The National Unity Platform (NUP) has lost one of its parliamentary candidates in an accident. Badru Katongole was vying to represent Bukoto Central in the Eleventh Parliament on the NUP.
Katongole died in a car accident along Masaka road while going for the burial of Dr. Anas Kaliisa who died on Wednesday evening at his home in Kawempe and is set to be buried today in Ntungamo.
Several other passengers, who were travelling with the deceased in the saloon vehicle, were rushed to Masaka Hospital.
“With shock and grief, I have learnt of the death of our Bukoto Central MP candidate, comrade Katongole Badru Muhammad, who perished in a terrible accident this morning.
On behalf of the NUP fraternity and on my own behalf, I send deep sympathies to his family, friends and all of us who knew him. What a loss to the forces of change! We shall coordinate with the family regarding burial arrangements,” says NUP leader Kyagulanyi Robert Kyagulanyi.
