Uganda’s long distance runners Joshua Cheptegei and Jacob Kiplimo have been nominated for October’s World Athletics Moment of the Month.
Teenager Kiplimo is on the list following his World Athletics Half Marathon Championships win in Poland. For Cheptegei he broke the 10,000m world record in Valencia, Spain. His new record time is 26 minutes, 11. 02.
The duo will be competing for the award with Peres Jepchirchir who won the World Athletics Half Marathon Championships and women 5000m world record holder Letesenbet Gidey.

Cheptegei won the August World Athletics Moment of the Month for his stunning 5000m world record of 12:35.36 at the Monaco Diamond League.
