44 NUP supporters face charges of wearing military-style outfits, remanded to prison

Two days ago, a joint security team led by police has sealed off the National Unity Platform (NUP) offices in Kamwokya and confiscated valuables and other office materials.

During the conduct of the raid, the security team arrested over 130 NUP supporters and detained them at Kira Road Police station.

Today, 44 of the arrested supporters appeared before City Hall Court in Kampala where they were charged for wearing military-style outfits. The group was remanded to Kitalya prison (men) & Kigo prison (women) until October23.

According to the security team, they got intelligence that some political young groups in Kamwokya had started militia life behaviour.
