The Executive Board of the National Unity Platform has finally released a list of candidates it has handed flags in the disputed constituencies in central Uganda.
15 constituencies in the Central Region were subjected to re-evaluation and notable candidates have emerged successful after the second round of evaluation.
Political comedian Muhammad Ssegirinya has defeated Sulaiman Kidandala for Kawempe North MP flag. Journalist Bashir Kazibwe will carry the NUP flag as he beat Roy Ssemboga.
The vetting committee has also opted for incumbent Allan Ssewanyana to carry party flag in Makindye West race. Another incumbent Moses Kasibante has been vetted out for Abubaker Kawalya. Kawalya will hold the flag in the Rubaga North race.
“By way of reminder, all candidates who are aggrieved by their results have the right to petition the Executive Board. A panel has been put in place to handle all appeals expeditiously,” says NUP.
