Member of Parliament for Agago County and former Leader of Opposition in the 8th parliament, Prof. Ogenga Latigo says the current crop up of youthful aspirants is enough indicators to the older generation that it’s time up for them.
Ogenga, the first lawmaker to serve as the Leader of Opposition after the return of the multiparty political dispensation in 2006 said without a doubt currently they (old generation) are feeling the pressure from the new young breed of politicians.
“Whether we like it or not, the young are breathing on our necks (the old), and change is inevitable,” Ogenga said while appearing on NBS TV’s Morning Breeze.
Ogenga admitted that Bobi Wine’s National Unity Platform (NUP) is a political force to watch.
“The forces of NUP is so strong, to be honest. It is currently concentrated in the central region. The central part of this country is very vital in the politics of Uganda,” he said.
On the recently mass exodus of MPs from the country’s oldest party Democratic Party, Ogenga said DP’s seed is very strong, whether it dies out temporarily, it will always be there.
