With the entertainment industry fighting the new proposed rules and regulations on the creatives, motor mouth and social-political activist, Frank Gashumba has scoffed at what he calls lack of talent in the entertainment industry.
When questioned whether he would love to join artists in fighting against the new proposed rules and regulations that were announced by the Uganda Communications Commission (UCC), Gashumba responded that we have no talented people in the country.
“All the entertainers in Uganda are just sketching life. During our youthful age, creative men like Alex Mukulu could sit down and come up with stage plays that would fill National Theater to capacity and sell out for almost two months, something that no longer exists,” Gashumba said.
He went ahead and also advised all the artists in this generation to stop giving themselves titles.
“The bad thing is this is a generation where everyone has given himself a title. It is the generation where you will find a pastor who cannot read or recite a Bible verse,”
“Only in Uganda can you find people who call themselves marines yet they can’t even swim,” Gashumba said.
“Everyone is just sketching life which merely implies that we do not have creative arts here, period,” he added on.
