Controversial political analyst Tamale Mirundi was involved in an accident on Friday evening and he has mixed feelings about the incident. He believes it could have been mafias who wanted to “finish him off” or most likely a man rushing to the lodge because he had a girl in the car.
“We were first stopped since the President’s convoy was passing by, when we were allowed to move, the car came came from an opposite direction targeting us. I wonder where it come from. When you hear a recorded audio of mafias, they are very desperate to finish me but right now, I cannot confirm that it was them,” Mirundi who has recently stopped airing his views on TV and radio said via his Youtube channel.
“I don’t know whether it was intentional. The man who was driving had a girl inside, I think he was rushing to go the lodge since it was approaching curfew time. When they knocked us, the girl stayed in their car, she was very scared. That’s another explanation. But the way he was big-headed, I think he had a hidden motive because he knew me. He refused to move out of the car,” Mirundi who sustained minor injuries from the accident said.
Mirundi, a former Presidential Press Secretary said that because of the lockdown situation, people are very angry and they want to transfer their anger to any government official thinking they stole their Covid-19 relief food. He said because he was in a car with government number plates, people wanted to attack him even when he was the victim, but when they realized it was their man Mirundi, they attacked the man who knocked him instead.
“They accused him of having been hired by the mafia to kill me,” he said.
