Former presidential candidate, Ms Maureen Kyalya is seeking for financial support to enable her run for the country’s highest office.

For this Kyalya has started a campaign to raise $15000 (about Shs55 million) that will cover the nomination fees and campaign costs.

“I seek to be nominated in the forth coming Presidential Elections of Uganda and humbly pray for your financial and moral support in the next eight months of campaigns. Africa needs female presidents to reunify it, restore justice and stop inhuman and degrading treatment to each other. We need to build welfare, economic and healthcare structures. Without this money I can’t take part in the elections. Please help me,” Kyalya says.

In March last year, Kyalya expressed interest to give the presidential race a second shot.

“I will stand in 2021, God willing. I am coming in my own political party whose registration will be finalized in July this year,” she said.

In 2016 when Kyalya took on the male dominated race, she managed only 40,598 Votes representing (0.44%). President Museveni won with 5,617,503 votes representing 60.75 percent, followed by Dr Kiiza Besigye who garnered 3,270,290 votes representing 35.37 percent.
