Information coming in indicates that acting Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) Executive Director Eng. Andrew Kitaka, his Deputy Samuel Sserunkuma, and three other top KCCA officials have been fired with immediate effect by President Yoweri Museveni.
However, no official communication has been yet issued to confirm the sacking. In January this year, Museveni extended Kitaka’s contract for six months until June 18, so this means it will not be extended further.
Kitaka was appointed KCCA acting Executive Director on December 18, 2018, following the resignation of then Executive Director Jennifer Musisi who had served in the position for seven years.
Musisi announced her exit on October 15, 2018, and submitted her resignation letter to President Museveni, indicating that she would vacate office on December 15.
During his 2020 Budget Speech, President Yoweri Museveni promised to clean all corrupt officials from his government saying that he had started with the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA).
