A landlord in Masaka town has set ablaze his tenant’s rental house for failure to clear the rent fees. Amos Ssuubi, 23, a resident at the village of Ssenyange in Nyendo-Ssenyange division who was found at Masaka Hospital nursing injuries said his landlord has been threatening him over rent arrears since the lockdown started.

Ssuubi however said he has been paying his rent fees on time and he had cleared up to the month of May.

According to Ssuubi’s  neighbours, their land lord is a drunkard and has a tendency of collecting rent from the tenants and forgets afterwards, hence returning to ask the month that was cleared.
