Ministry of Health has confirmed that a nurse working at Mulago National Specialised Hospital tested positive for COVID-19. The said health worker is among the results from samples tested yesterday on June 3, 2020.
“The confirmed case from Kampala is a nurse working with Mulago National Specialised Hospital,” said the Ministry in a short statement.
This brings the total number of frontline health workers who have tested positive for COVID-19 to eight in Uganda.
Today the Ministry confirmed 15 new COVID-19 cases. The total confirmed cases are now 522. The confirmed cases include; four truck drivers who arrived from Tanzania via Mutukula, two truck drivers from Busia and nine are among alerts and contacts to previously confirmed cases.
“The nine cases from contacts and alerts are: three from Amuru, two from Kyotera, one from Buikwe, one from Nakaseke, one from Lira and one from Kampala districts,” said the Ministry.
Additionally, 33 positive foreign truck drivers were handed over to their country of origin. The total recoveries in Uganda stand at 82.
