Singer Eddy Kenzo has today been awarded YouTube’s second-highest Creator Award which is the Gold Creator Award given to individuals with 1 million-plus subscribers.
Kenzo is one of the few artistes in Uganda who have made a name on the international scene especially due to his huge following on his various social media platforms. This year in April, he became the first Ugandan to hit one million subscribers on YouTube; an American online video-sharing platform.
Today he has been presented with the award which of course again made him the first Ugandan to receive the gold-plated play button that has been compared with the Hollywood Walk Of Fame, signalling its importance.
“Team Eddy Kenzo our Gold is here. Thank you, everyone. Golden boy,” Kenzo posted on his social media platforms.
Early this year, Ugandan artistes Rema Namakula and Jose Chameleone were also presented with Silver Creator Award which is given to individuals with 100,000+ subscribers.
The highest category of the YouTube Creator awards is the Diamond Creator Award for those with 10 million-plus subscribers.
